Frequently Asked Questions

  • Who can participate?
Anyone who has completed a film (short or feature) is welcome to apply. We will choose the best of the applicants to move on to the writing phase.

  • Is there any funding?
You are responsible for producing and editing your own segment. We will cover all final post-production, marketing, and overhead costs. We will coordinate the writing and shooting process and maintain the website. Each filmmaker will also participate in promoting the film and organizing screenings.

  • Will I receive credit and profit share?
Yes. All of the filmmakers who meet the project requirements will share writing and directing credit and will receive a percentage of the profits. Each filmmaker will keep 100% of revenue from initial screenings that are organized by the filmmaker in his or her local area.

  • Will this project make money?
We will strive to make a sellable film and will pursue all distribution avenues. With multiple filmmakers, we also have multiple promoters. If at the very least, each director can locally publicize and screen the film, it will open in dozens of markets to an international audience.

  • With so many directors, will the styles and looks be inconsistent?
By nature, this concept calls for a collision of directorial styles and intentions. Rather than fight it, we should embrace the variety. This will be a non-traditional film and will appeal to a more cutting-edge audience.

  • Without funding, will the quality suffer?
As Hollywood has proven, money does not equal quality. Talent, creativity and time can create beautiful, engaging and innovative images with limited resources.

  • What is the time frame for the project?
We will begin the writing process in March and the first segments will go into pre-production in May. Shoots will be staggered from June to August, so that we can have a finished film by November 2010.

  • How much work is involved?
You will be writing and directing a three minute scene as well as providing suggestions and feedback for the other filmmakers. We will also have periodic group chats. When the scripts are finished, you will have at least one month for casting and pre-production. You will edit your own segment and send the footage to a central editor who will asssemble the segments and finish the film.
